Proposals for 2019 MPBA-FES AGM

In order to give members time to consider proposals prior to the AGM, the ones that have been submitted already are presented here.

If any member would like to put forward a proposal then please send it to webmaster@mpba-fes.org.uk stating the purpose of the proposal as well as the proposal itself.

The AGM will be held:-
Venue: Bridlington Model Boat Society Club house
Date: Friday 28th June. 6:45PM

Proposal 1

Proposer: Martin Machen

Purpose:

The reasons for this are:-

  1. Standardize all the ECO class courses.
  2. The club class submerged drive i.e. Club 500 etc. courses used throughout the UK and Europe are the “M” course, if we changed all Eco classes to this it would hopefully encourage people to step up to a true fast electric class and rejuvenate ECO classes in the UK as it would be a course the=y are familiar with.
  3. It would be easier for race organizers as only one extra buoy would need to be placed as the 4 corner buoys of the “Oval” could be used. Also easier for buoy judges as boats would in theory be more spaced out.
  4. Less chance of crashes especially in ECO Expert as there would be more space for what now are boats that are in a lot of peoples opinion too fast for the current “Triangle” course.

Proposal:

I propose that the course for Mini Eco Expert and Eco Expert be made the “M” course as is used in the FSR-E class.

Proposal 2

Proposer: Martin Harvey

Purpose:

Proposal:

I would like to propose that the section drop the automatic adoption of Naviga rules and set rules that suit the majority and not the minority.

Proposal 3

Proposer: Roger Graves

Purpose:

I wish to propose a adjustment to the limiter settings. (Safety Reasons)

With a 5sec slow down to get of the racing line inside or outside the oval with a breeze across the lake you may end up in the racing line.

Proposal:

My proposal is that you have the 5sec slow down then you are dead in the water for 30sec then 30sec with 1/4 speed to move out of the danger zone.

Proposal 4

Proposer: David Harvey

Purpose: To restrict races to a minimum of 3 entrants.

Proposal:

Change rule “6. Number of boats” by adding:-

“There must be a minimum of 3 entrants in any class for it to be run at the FES Nationals.”

also on page 5 of the Race Rules Addendum to change “(2 minimum)” to “(3 minimum)”

Proposal 5

Proposer: Barry Fatt

Purpose:

?

Proposal:

As the Cat class is solely UK,  the Battery restrictions on capacity be lifted.  i.e. 4 and 6 cell packs but no other restriction.

Proposal 6

Proposer: David Harvey

Purpose:

To bring mini mono and mini hydro into line with Electra.

When using lipo packs with no weight limit increase the capacity to as below.
